Adis Medunjanin Sentenced to Life in Prison

Adis Medunjanin a thirty-four year old man who is a resident of Queens, NY was sentenced on November 16, 2012 to life imprisonment for multiple offenses under federal law. The Queens resident joined al Qaeda and then planned and attempted to commit suicide terrorist attacks. Adis Medunjanin, along with his accomplices were within days of executing a plot to conduct coordinated suicide bombing attacks in the New York City subway system in 2009. When Adis Medunjanin failed to carry out the suicide bombing attacks in the New York City subway system, he tried to commit a terrorist attack by crashing his car on the Whitestone Expressway in an attempt to kill himself and others. Adis is truly a piece of garbage and he deserves all that is coming to him for the rest of his life in prison!

Former Pelham Middle School teacher Was Sentenced To 5 Years In Prison For Distributing Crack Cocaine And Traveling With Intent To Engage In Illicit Sexual Activity With A Minor

Greg M. Cavaluzzi, 34, a former Pelham middle school teacher, was sentenced to five years in prison and five years of supervised release, for distributing crack cocaine and traveling with intent to have illicit sex with a minor. Greg M. Cavaluzzi plead guilty on February 17, 2011, before U.S. District Judge Kenneth M. Karas, who imposed today's sentence in White Plains federal court. See, USDOJ

Seafood Wholesaler Owners Sentenced in Alabama for Selling Falsely Labeled Fish, Smuggling and Misbranding of Seafood Products

WASHINGTON– Karen L. Blyth and David H. M. Phelps were sentenced yesterday in federal court in Mobile, Ala., to 33 months and 24 months in prison, respectively. The pair was also fined $5,000 each, and barred for three years from working in the seafood industry or owning any seafood related business. Blyth and Phelps had been convicted in January 2011 of 13 felony offenses for their roles in purchasing and selling farm-raised Asian catfish and Lake Victoria perch falsely labeled as grouper, selling foreign farm-raised shrimp falsely labeled as U.S. wild caught shrimp, selling shrimp they falsely claimed to be larger, more expensive shrimp than they actually were, and for buying fish they knew had been illegally imported into the United States. Blyth and Phelps, on the eve of trial on January 24, 2011, pleaded guilty to the offenses, which included one conspiracy count, nine violations of the Lacey Act, two counts of receiving smuggled goods and one count of misbranding. Mexican National Receives 70-Month Prison Sentence for Narcotics Trafficking Conviction

ALBUQUERQUE—Earlier today in federal court in Albuquerque, Erik Alonzo-Martinez, 28, was sentenced to a 70-month term of imprisonment for his narcotics trafficking conviction. Alonzo-Martinez, a citizen of Mexico, will be deported after he completes his prison sentence. United States Attorney Kenneth J. Gonzales said that Alonzo-Martinez and his two co-defendants, Jorge Lozoya, 26 and Alejandro Alvarado-Aleman, 27, were arrested as a result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and New Mexico State Police (NMSP) during which an undercover NMSP officer purchased cocaine and cocaine base, also known as crack cocaine, from Alonzo-Martinez and his co-defendants.
