The case stems from a tragic incident on June 6, 2020, at Fabcon's Grove City, Ohio, manufacturing facility. Zachary Ledbetter, a batch operator, was fatally injured when a pneumatic door on a concrete mixer closed on his head. According to court documents, a critical safety feature on the mixer, an exhaust valve designed to release pneumatic pressure and render the door inoperable during cleaning and maintenance, was broken. Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance, Jr., today announced the guilty plea of SHAWN JENKINS, 43, in Manhattan Supreme Court to both charges against him, Attempted Burglary in the Second Degree and Conspiracy in the Fourth Degree. Jenkins was a New York City police officer who had been assigned to the 23rd Precinct on the East Side of Manhattan as a Highway Safety Officer until he was suspended on May 13, 2009.

CAMDEN, NJ—A second New Jersey man today admitted to his role in a $40.8 million mortgage fraud conspiracy, serving as a “straw buyer” to cause a lender to release almost $980,000 based on a fraudulent mortgage loan application, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced.

WASHINGTON - Mark D. Leitner entered a plea of guilty in the Northern District of Florida to filing false liens against federal law enforcement and corruptly endeavoring to impede and impair the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Justice Department announced today. Senior District Court Judge Lacey A. Collier presided over the hearing at the U.S. District Court in Pensacola, where Leitner admitted to filing the false liens against the former U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Florida, the former clerk of court, and numerous Assistant U.S. Attorneys, Department of Justice trial attorneys and an IRS criminal investigation special agent involved in a 2010 tax fraud prosecution against Leitner.

DALLAS - A lawyer practicing in Laredo, Texas, pleaded guilty on Thursday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Irma C. Ramirez to a one-count Information charging interstate travel in aid of racketeering, announced U.S. Attorney James T. Jacks of the Northern District of Texas. The case was investigated by U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). Alonzo Ramos, 40, who is free on bond, faces a statutory maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. In addition, according to the plea agreement, he will surrender "any and all of his licenses to practice law, and he shall cease practicing law." Sentencing is set for July 5 before U.S. District Judge Sam A. Lindsay.

Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance, Jr., announced on 4/4/2011, the guilty plea of JEREMY FULTON, 28, a former minister at Mariners’ Temple Baptist Church in Lower Manhattan, for the rape and sexual abuse of five girls who attended his church. FULTON, who also served as the associate director of the church’s after-school and summer camp programs, pled guilty to Rape in the First Degree and is expected to be sentenced on May 20, 2011, to 22 years in prison, followed by 20 years of post-release supervision. “This defendant used his position of authority and respect to win the trust of parents and gain unfettered access to children for the purpose of sexually abusing these girls,” said District Attorney Vance. “Children who survive sexual abuse often face a lifetime of recovery, and prosecutions like this bring justice to those victims and their families. Putting an offender like this in prison also saves other victims he might have preyed upon.”
