Preet Bharara, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced today that EVAN ZAUDER, a former sixth-grade teacher at a private school in New Jersey, pled guilty in Manhattan federal court to charges of using the Internet to entice a minor to engage in illegal sexual activity, and to receipt, distribution, and possession of child pornography.

Preet Bharara, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and Janice K. Fedarcyk, the Assistant Director in Charge of the New York Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (“FBI”), announced today the arrest of EVAN ZAUDER for possessing child pornography. ZAUDER, 26, a sixth-grade teacher at a private school in New Jersey, was arrested by FBI agents late in the evening on Monday, May 1, 2012, at his Manhattan residence. He was presented yesterday afternoon before U.S. Magistrate Judge Gabriel W. Gorenstein in Manhattan federal court.

MINEOLA, NY - Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice announced today that a Bayville resident has been indicted by a grand jury on 31 counts for inappropriate sexual contact with 14 children.

Greg M. Cavaluzzi, 34, a former Pelham middle school teacher, was sentenced to five years in prison and five years of supervised release, for distributing crack cocaine and traveling with intent to have illicit sex with a minor. Greg M. Cavaluzzi plead guilty on February 17, 2011, before U.S. District Judge Kenneth M. Karas, who imposed today's sentence in White Plains federal court. See, USDOJ
