Earlier today, at the federal courthouse in Central Islip, Tony Ream was arraigned on an indictment charging him with wire fraud and money laundering in connection with his employment at a Long Island company (the Company). Ream was a credit supervisor for the Company, which was a worldwide distributor of medical and dental supplies with its principal place of business in Melville, New York. Over the course of four years, Ream sent wire transfers totaling approximately $1.6 million from the Company’s bank account to a bank account that he controlled. The arraignment was held before Magistrate Judge Steven I. Locke. Joseph Nocella, Jr., United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, and Christopher G. WASHINGTON—Two former high-ranking employees of facilities operations at New York Presbyterian Hospital (NYPH) pleaded guilty today to an indictment charging them with conspiring to defraud NYPH, the Department of Justice announced.

WASHINGTON – A Hammond, Ind., man was sentenced today in U.S. District Court in Alexandria, Va., to 14 years in prison for operating an online business that sold counterfeit credit cards encoded with stolen account information, announced Assistant Attorney General Lanny A. Breuer of the Criminal Division and U.S. Attorney Neil H. MacBride for the Eastern District of Virginia.

NYC Department of Juvenile Justice Counselor Convicted of Criminal Sexual Act and Sexual Abuse Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance, Jr., today announced a guilty verdict in the trial of TONY SIMMONS, 47, a New York City Department of Juvenile Justice employee, who sexually abused females in his custody at Manhattan Family Court. A jury convicted SIMMONS of Criminal Sexual Act in the Third Degree, Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree, and Sexual Abuse in the Third Degree. “This defendant had a duty to guard and protect these teenagers,” said District Attorney Vance. “Instead, he abused the authority of his position to sexually assault girls in a situation where they were most vulnerable.”
