Former New Jersey Teacher Pleads Guilty In Manhattan Federal Court To Child Exploitation And Child Pornography Offenses

Preet Bharara, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced today that EVAN ZAUDER, a former sixth-grade teacher at a private school in New Jersey, pled guilty in Manhattan federal court to charges of using the Internet to entice a minor to engage in illegal sexual activity, and to receipt, distribution, and possession of child pornography.

Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance, Jr., today announced a $10 million settlement that resolves a three-year investigation into the criminal conduct of SCHLESINGER-SIEMENS ELECTRICAL, LLC[1] (“SSE”), an electrical contracting firm. In the Deferred Prosecution Agreement (DPA) and corresponding Statement of Facts, Siemens Electrical admitted that SSE violated New York State law by filing false documents with the Department of Buildings (“DOB”) and the Department of Environmental Protection (“DEP”).

Carrols Corp. To Pay $2.5 Million to Settle EEOC Sexual Harassment and Retaliation Lawsuit

NEW YORK - Carrols Corporation, the world's largest Burger King franchisee, will pay $2.5 million and take significant remedial steps to settle a sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit brought by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the agency announced today. The lawsuit alleged discrimination against 89 female employees around the country, many of whom were teenagers when they worked for Carrols.
